Registration is separate from the Specialty Tracks.  You must be registered for this course to attend any part of it.  You have an option to add the Sunday CVT Pharmacology Lectures for an additional fee ($200) which in turn gets you access to all the recorded lectures from the Specialty Tracks post meeting (an additional 52+ hours of CME).

Course Description:

Cardiac Anatomy: A Live Porcine Heart Dissection
2-hour hands-on workshop

In this two-hour workshop, faculty perform a live, step-by-step dissection of a fresh porcine heart, whose structure closely mirrors the human heart. Beginning with the external surfaces and coronary arteries, the dissection moves chamber by chamber to expose the valves, subvalvular apparatus, septa, and conduction system landmarks. Throughout, faculty tie each structure to clinical practice: where grafts are placed, what the surgeon sees during valve repair, how post-operative rhythm disturbances arise, and how imaging views map to the anatomy on the table. Designed for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery PAs at every level, the session builds a clear three-dimensional understanding of the heart, with time reserved for questions and close inspection of the specimen.

1. Identify the major external and internal structures of the heart

2. Describe their spatial relationships and relevance to common cardiac surgical procedures

3. Correlate gross anatomy with echocardiographic and cross-sectional imaging views.
